Ambulance Drivers

AmbulanceThe role of the ambulance driver in the unit is one of the most important of all activities while on duty. When a unit is on the duty the driver has command inside the ambulance and all ranks must obey those orders in relation to the safety of passengers. To become an ambulance driver in the ambulance corps you need the following.

 

  1. D1 licence (or provisional if taking the test)

  2. Over 25 years of age

  3. Basic First Aid cert

  4. Completed Ambulance Equipment course

  5. Completed Ambulance Driving Course

4X4 ambulance crewA full B license or above is required for driving the 4X4 Ambulance after completing an Ambulance driving course.
